Satan is the avowed enemy of man and this is the name (enemy) that he is given in the Holy Qur’an. It is he who first caused your parents to be expelled from the Garden but he is not satisfied with that.
O children of Adam, let not the devil seduce you, as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them their clothing that he might show them their shame. He surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you see them not. Surely We have made the devils to be the friends of those who believe not (7:27).
His intention is to lead all of you into the Hell fire and this assault on you is a more determined one than the first on your parents. From the very beginning he has been given to evil doing and he is bent on conquering you. But if you put Allah first in every affair of your life, he will never be able to overpower you.
And how can man be blessed with heavenly light? When he suffers distresses in the way of Allah yet never falls into the snares of Satan.
